Chances are, at almost any given time, you can find Donovan somewhere teaching. She is a proud educator with 10+ years of experience who most recently has worked on behalf of Arizona State University, Ohio State University, Ithaca College, Eastern University, Wilma Theater, Theatre Horizon, Arden Theatre Company, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Kimmel Center, Stuttering Association for the Young, Music Theatre Philly, Lantern Theater Company, 1812 Productions, Quintessence Theatre Group, and Walnut Street Theatre. Donovan specializes in acting and playwriting residencies for students K-12, and she most values trauma-informed training practices, empowering students of color and ESL learners, and providing her students with the life skills necessary to thrive and be the most optimal versions of themselves.

Her teaching artistry has brought her into contact with incredibly diverse communities of students in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, North Carolina, New York, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and Canada. Whenever Donovan is in the classroom, there’s a huge focus on positive affirmation, learning about perspectives outside of our own, the power of laughter, creative problem-solving and critical-thinking, and above all else, having FUN. As the wise saying goes, “it’s called a PLAY for a reason!”

Donovan also does DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) consultations for universities, individuals, and organizations. Interested? Check out the Contact page!
